Redway Runners

This person completed her 100th Marathon on the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend. Not only that but she is supportive to all U18 runners and is inspiring to all she encounters. On top of all this, she works full time and is raising a family.

Grants Panel Meeting 1 July 2024

Five Grants with a total of £2262 were awarded this month to Ride High, First Class Athletics, MK Basketball Foundation, Shenley Brook End School and MK City Volleyball Club.

Sports Achiever of the Month - May

O18 Female from Redway Runners
This lady took part in the Grand Union Canal Race on the bank holiday weekend – total 145 miles. Starting at 6 am on 25 May and finishing 00.32 am 27 May. Out of 145 runners only 6 were women.

Grants Panel Meeting 3 June 2024

Two awards this month, a Grant of £324 to MK Youth Korfball Trust and a Bursary of £300 to a talented basketball player from Shenley Brook End School.

Sports Achiever of the Month - April

Female – Over 18 – Bucks Vision – qualified to play at the Wimbledon Visually impaired Tournament in August 2024
Male – Over 28 – Marshall Milton Keynes Athletics Club – aside from running marathons, this person has raised over £2,500 for charities.

Grants Panel Meeting 13 May 2024

Two Grants were awarded this month to Safari Health Hub (£495) and Emberton Park Sailing Club (£343). Total awarded £838.

Grants Panel Meeting 8 April 2024

Grants totaling £364 were awarded to MK Sharks Juniors and Wolverton Park Bowls Club. In addition, two Bursaries of £300 each to talented athletes from Ousedale School and MK Basketball Foundation.

Sports Achiever of the Month - March

M O18 took part in the Tokyo Marathon and achieved his 5th star.
M O18 took part in the Tokyo Marathon and achieved his 6th star after recovering from a broken ankle.
M O18 recently became the Irish National Age Group Champion for 2023 at the Dublin Marathon.
All are members of Redway Runners.

3 Redway Runners O18 winners – 2 female and 1 male who have all achieved in various marathons/half marathons whilst raising funds for MIND.

Grants Panel Meeting 5 February 2024

Three Grants awarded this month to MK Pickleball Club, Keeping Kids off the Streets and Newton Leys Stars Football Club. Total awarded £1794. In addition, Bursaries totaling £600 were awarded to two talented badminton players from Sankey Academy.

Over 18 couple who have achieved many medals over the past months mainly at the British Open Inclusive Para Dance Championships in October.
Male Under 18 Leadership skills at his School – over and above expectations.
Female Under 18 – Leadership skills at her school – once again over and above expectations.

Two Grants have been awarded this month to Leon Leisure Centre and Marshall MK Athletic Club (MMKAC) totaling £945. In addition, two Bursaries were awarded to talented athletes from MMKAC and a player from MK Basketball Foundation. Total of £900 awarded.

Achiever for the month of April - Male O18

Ted Brown is being inducted into the British Powerlifting Hall of Fame for 2022 for his outstanding contribution as an athlete for many years going back to the days of BAWLA. He will shortly be presented with a commemorative award at Moulton College and this will include Honorary Life Membership of British Powerlifting.

Grants Panel Meeting 15 May 2023

Sport MK has awarded a Grant of £631 to New Bradwell Cricket Club for equipment, a contribution of £150 to MK Bucks Korfball Club for a coaching course and a Bursary of £300 to a talented player from MK Basketball Foundation.

Monthly Achiever – March JFDC Musical Theatre Team

This group of 9 children was formed in Sept 2022 and ages range from 6 – 12 years. All children are new to Musical Theatre and recently entered their first grading (Introductory Stage) and agained a mark of 93 (distinction). The judges were so impressed they have been invited to take part in the IDTA Musical Theatre Awards in Blackpool later this year.
